‘Tralee 1700-1850 Evolution of a County Town’

In this greatly anticipated webinar Dr. Marc Caball will explore many facets of Tralee and how it evolved from 1700-1850.

Dr. Caball is associate professor at UCD School of History. He holds a B.A. and a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford.  His research interests centre on the cultural history of early modern Ireland, British Atlantic history and urban history. Some of his recent publications include ‘Munster and India: the local and global in early modern Ireland’ in Sarah Covington et al. (eds), Early modern Ireland: new sources, methods and perspectives (Routledge, New York, 2019)

Dr. Caball is currently working on a global microhistory centred on an Anglo-Irish family in early eighteenth-century Ireland and India. He is also preparing the historic town atlas for Tralee for the Royal Irish Academy’s Irish Historic Towns Atlas series. This upcoming webinar promises to offer the viewer a greater understanding of the progression of Tralee from 1700-1850.
