‘The Story of Christmas’
This webinar will explore the history and development of the Festival of Christmas. Set against the backdrop of the deep midwinter, this most colourful of festivals has continuously changed and evolved down through the centuries.
We will explore the history behind many of our ‘traditional’ Christmas customs. In particular, we will consider the role played by the Victorians in reshaping and remoulding this festival.
Relaxing in our warm, well-lit, modern homes we will consider the importance of Christmas in formerly helping to dispel the gloom and isolation of dark winter nights. Overall, it promises to be an absorbing and intriguing webinar.
