The Kerry Magazine is an annual publication of the Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009.
When first published in 1989, it was primarily intended as a newsletter to keep members abreast of activities within the society. It was also to be used as a vehicle for the publication of short articles of local interest, which would not be eligible for publication in the Society journal.
Over the intervening twenty years the magazine has evolved into a highly respected stand-alone publication. We now welcome short articles (maximum 2000 word) from both academics and non-academics, on topics related to any aspect of Kerry's rich and diverse cultural heritage.
The Kerry magazine is published each year in December. Anyone wishing to submit an article for consideration by the editorial committee should do so by the preceding June 30th. Contributors are also required to submit appropriate illustrations with their articles and a brief biographical note for publication in our contributors list.
Many of the magazine back issues are still available to purchase from the Society. Please consult the 'Back Issues' section on this website for more information. To view some sample articles from the magazine, click the link below.
