Welcome to the official website of The Kerry Archaeological and Historical Society.

The Society was established in May 1967 for the collection, recording, study and preservation of material relating to the history and antiquities of County Kerry.

With an annual membership of over 600 members worldwide, the Society operates from Kerry Library Headquarters in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. It organises a series of lectures throughout the year and a number of outings mainly during the summer months. The Society also publishes a Journal and Magazine on an annual basis.

Lecture - 'Cumann na mBan and political activism, 1917-1919' - 3rd July 2018, 8.00pm

Dingle History Society presents a lecture entitled 'Cumann na mBan and political activism, 1917-1919', by Dr Mary McAuliffe, Assistant Professor in Gender Studies, UCD in the Dingle Skellig Hotel, Dingle, on Tuesday 3rd July at 8.00pm.

Field Outing - 'Ballyvourney and Gobnait's Well' - 8th July 2018, 2.30pm

A field outing to Ballyvourney and Gobnait's Well, led by an tAth Donal O Brian, will take place on Sunday, 8th July. Meet at Ballyvourney Parish Church at 2.30pm.

Field Outing - 'Spike Island' - 6th August 2018, 11.30am

A field outing to Spike will take place on Monday, 6th August. Meet at Cobh Ferry 11.30am (Ferry at midday). Cost 16 euro per person for ferry (return), fully guided tour and plenty of time to explore.
